Abstract

The increasing function of roads has resulted in asphalt as the main material for roads to keep improve quality. Asphalt as a binder was innovated by utilizing waste motorcycle tires as a mixture of asphalt. The purpose of this study was to determine whether by using waste material from motorcycle tires with a percentage of 2%, 3%, and 4% will be positive results in the world of asphalt construction. The results of this study indicate that the addition of used motorcycle rubber waste affects the value of the ups and downs of Marshall characteristics. The results of VIM are 15,74%; 15,6%; 14% and VMA are 22,37%; 24,17%; 24,99%. also VFA are 29,66%; 35,64%; 42,74%. Results of stability are 1506,92 kg, 1180,40 kg, 984,09. And flow 7,44 mm, 7,17 mm, 6,54 mm. The optimum mixture of waste rubber motorcycle tires as asphalt modification is 3,23% with the results of VMA 24,45%, MQ 160,95 kg/mm and stability 1123,7 kg.
